 Faro de la Calle Matamoros can be center stage of your vacation plans, is located on the hill overlooking the roofs of Vallarta, offers an excellent panorama of the city center and the Bay in general. 
The place, needless to say, is excellent for photography, it is also excellent for those who just want to absorb another angle of Vallarta. If you have a good camera, with a good zoom lens, you can get great pictures of many of the attractions in the bay and downtown.

  This was a nice view but not nearly as impressive as some of the reviews led one to believe. Short trip from the malecon. It was a much different view than one usually gets of the church though.  more »

  From this vantage point you have an excellent panoramic view of Puerto Vallarta, taking the urban area in the foreground and the sea as a backdrop. I really liked the view with the Tower of the parish of our Lady of Guadalupe, wearing a "Crown" of its bell tower. Access is free and is not crowded, so my recommendation would be to select the visiting hours. Enjoy the lighthouse on Matamoros Street. LIFE... is a trip!
